DNSimple recently eliminated our “legacy plan” of $810 annually, pushing us towards a $4,000 annual spend. Over a decade ago, I began using their API for FolioHD, costing $10 for a .com domain and $50 monthly reseller fee. As DNSimple raised domain prices from $10 to $15.50, I am now paying 50% more per domain. Domain registration was never a profit center for FolioHD, so pricing was adjusted accordingly. Despite the lack of communication, the sudden price hike feels unjustified given the stagnant value provided. I chose to leave DNSimple rather than accept a 5x increase in costs for subpar services.
