Ugandan athlete Deo Kato ran over 7,700 miles from South Africa to London to bring awareness to racism and discrimination. His journey was marked by challenges, including illness, jail time, and conflicts in war zones. Despite facing racism and hardships in Europe, Kato found moments of warmth, like running with children in Botswana and Kenya. Yet, he encountered racism in Europe, with police stops and locals reporting him as an illegal immigrant. Kato’s partner, Alice Light, described the journey as a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Kato’s mission is to challenge racist ideas, promote human migration, and build a more inclusive society for the future.
