The report claims that Meta used the data to create targeted advertising and train its algorithms. The Democrats are calling for federal agencies to investigate and potentially take legal action against the tax preparation firms and Meta. In a cease-and-desist letter, Twitter threatened legal action against Meta over its new text-based app called Threads, which is a rival to Elon Musk’s social media platform.
