The 20 year old PSP can now connect to WPA2 WiFi Networks

The ARK Development team and Acid_Snake have released a major update for the Sony PSP custom Firmware, allowing the portable console to connect to WPA2 encrypted Wifi networks. This was made possible by the wpa2psp plugin developed by Moment and shared on the PSP Homebrew discord. Despite the lack of support from Sony, enthusiasts continue to enhance the PSP through homebrew updates. The addition of WPA2 support addresses the issue of older devices losing access to newer encryption standards like WPA2, ensuring that PSP users can still connect to Wifi networks. The limitations of the plugin include compatibility with only 2.4 GHz networks and the requirement for WPA2 with AES encryption. You can install the plugin by updating to the latest release of the ARK Custom Firmware and enabling WPA2 support. It’s an exciting development for PSP users looking to access Wifi on their device.
