Obsidian is now free for work

Over 10,000 organizations use Obsidian for work. The Commercial license is now optional, allowing anyone to use Obsidian for free. No account, ads, tracking, or strings attached. Your data is stored locally in plain text. The change is for simplicity and aligns with the Obsidian Manifesto of providing tools for clear thinking. High-security sectors like government and finance use Obsidian. Amazon and Google have thousands of employees using it daily. Previously, a Commercial license was required for companies with two or more employees. Now optional, it allows organizations to support Obsidian. Featured on the Obsidian Enterprise page by purchasing 25 licenses or more. Additional services like Sync and Publish support Obsidian as a user-supported platform. Optional future services for teams will also be available.
