The author encountered an error while setting up grub on new boot drives in an old Dell box. Despite few EFI variables and boot entries, efivars was full, causing the error. After some investigation, the author cleared the dead space in nvram using specific commands in an EFI shell. The unique solution worked for the author, but caution is advised as it may not work for everyone. Surprisingly, the UEFI configuration remained intact after fixing the issue. The author’s experience sheds light on a potential solution for a full efivarfs problem.
