Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that Meta’s new social media platform, Threads, has lost more than half of its users. The platform gained over 100 million users within five days of its launch, but retention has been an issue. Zuckerberg acknowledged the situation as “normal” and expects retention to improve as new features are added. He also mentioned Meta’s focus on the development of the Metaverse, an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) world, stating that he doesn’t expect it to go mainstream until the next decade. Despite losses in its Reality Labs division, Meta recorded a profit of $7.79bn in the last quarter. As for Zuckerberg’s proposed cage fight with Elon Musk, he is uncertain if it will happen.
