The 11foot8+8 bridge in Durham, North Carolina has gained notoriety for its ability to effectively enforce the laws of physics. Since 2008, there have been a total of 178 crashes at the bridge, with the most recent incident involving a box truck on July 6. Surprisingly, this was only the second crash at the bridge this year. The bridge has claimed victims of all kinds, from rental trucks to camper trailers. Some drivers attempt to sneak under the bridge, but none have succeeded. The bridge has even been the subject of a documentary called “Overheight Must Turn.”
