During a client engagement, someone made a memorable statement – if you succeed, you will fail. This particular engagement involved delivering an iOS Application and dealing with legacy backends and complex authentication processes. Despite facing some challenges, the team successfully built out an AWS environment and infrastructure. However, communicating with the lead developer of the SAP system proved difficult, as he actively tried to sabotage the project. Eventually, the team discovered bottlenecks in the system and encountered issues with load testing. Despite warnings and concerns, the release date remained firm. The launch party was overshadowed by the system crashing, leaving the team to learn valuable lessons about the importance of failure and not investing more than the customer does.
