Redfin Is Leaving the National Association of Realtors

Redfin, a real estate company, has decided to end its support of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) due to two main reasons. Firstly, Redfin has been uncomfortable with NAR’s policies on commissions, and secondly, they are concerned about the alleged pattern of sexual harassment within NAR. Redfin had already resigned from the NAR board in June before the sexual harassment allegations came to light, but now they are taking it further by requiring their brokers and agents to leave NAR wherever possible. Redfin believes that NAR’s rules are unfair and prevent them from making choices that benefit their consumers. They are now advocating for NAR to separate local access to tools from support for the national organization. Despite ending support for NAR, Redfin will continue to support the MLSs that brokers use to share listing data.
