Oil and gas company BP has agreed to buy $100 million worth of electric vehicle chargers from Tesla. This is a first for Tesla, as they have never sold chargers to another company before. BP will start installing the chargers next year, although the announcement does not specify how many chargers will be purchased. These chargers, branded with the “BP Pulse” logo, will be used as part of BP’s own charging network and will be able to power vehicles with either Tesla’s NACS charging port or the CCS charging port used by most non-Tesla EVs. The chargers will be installed at BP-owned locations as well as third-party locations. BP’s EV charging business, BP Pulse, currently operates 27,000 charging points and plans to expand further.
