Home schooling’s rise from fringe to fastest-growing form of education

Home schooling has become increasingly popular in America, with the number of families choosing this method of education on the rise. The Washington Post conducted an analysis of data from thousands of school districts across the country and found that home schooling has sustained its growth even as schools have lifted COVID-19 restrictions. The growth of home schooling has had a significant impact on the American educational system, with hundreds of thousands of children now learning outside of a conventional academic setting. It is challenging to obtain accurate information about the home-schooling population, as some states do not require notification or monitoring of home-schooled students. While there has been concern about the lack of regulation and oversight in home schooling, the rise in popularity has been seen across all measures of politics, geography, and demographics.
