Linaro Engineer Neil Armstrong has successfully enabled upstream Linux support for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This achievement is a significant milestone in Linux support, showcasing the collaboration between Qualcomm and Linaro. The support includes features such as Qualcomm Kryo CPUs, power management systems, low-speed I/O, high-density storage, high-speed peripherals, and communication capabilities. The patches released by Linaro enable the platform to run an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with mainline Linux. In the coming weeks, Linaro engineers will continue to work with the Linux kernel community to merge the patch series and enable additional features.
