Former Mozilla exec: Google has sabotaged Firefox for years (2019)

A former executive at Mozilla has accused Google of intentionally sabotaging Firefox over the past ten years in order to promote its own browser, Chrome. Other members from the Firefox team have also come forward with similar allegations. The sabotage allegedly involved introducing small bugs on Google sites that only affected Firefox users. The former executive, Johnathan Nightingale, described these actions as “oopses” by Google. Nightingale believes that Google intentionally ran out the clock, causing damage to Firefox and diverting the focus and resources of the Mozilla team. This accusation adds to the growing sentiment that Google is becoming the new Microsoft, with Chrome being compared to Internet Explorer.
