Guix Packager is a new web user interface designed to simplify the process of defining packages for Guix. With over 28,000 packages available in Guix, it’s important to have an easy way to create new packages. The interface is intuitive, allowing users to fill in forms on the left and generate a correct package definition on the right. It helps avoid common pitfalls and allows users to add dependencies, choose licenses, and configure flags without needing to dive into the manual. The tool was developed by Philippe Virouleau using React and MaterialUI, and contributions to improve it are welcome. This tool is part of an ongoing effort to make packaging in Guix more accessible and user-friendly.
