Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney’s GrapheneX-UTS Human-centric Artificial Intelligence Centre have made a groundbreaking breakthrough in mind reading. They have developed a new technology that can transform thoughts into words on a screen without the need for invasive technology such as brain implants or MRI machines. Participants in the study wore a cap that recorded brain activity via electroencephalogram (EEG), and an AI model called DeWave translated their brainwaves into text. While the technology is not perfect and has some limitations in accuracy, the researchers believe they can improve it further and make it comparable to traditional language translation programs.
