Preparing for the Incoming Computer Shopper Tsunami

Computer Shopper was a beloved computer magazine that served as the unofficial “bible” of the state of hardware and software to the general public throughout the 1980s and 1990s. It was known for its extensive page count, willingness to cover any computer-adjacent topic, and its massive monthly issues filled with advertisements for computer components. However, digitizing the magazine has proven to be a near-impossible task due to the size of the issues, cheap paper, lack of consideration for margins, and more. A recent crowdfunding effort allowed the acquisition and scanning of almost 200 issues of the magazine, which will be made available for researchers and enthusiasts alike.
