In the past year, I’ve been focused on my venture providing event and ticket management services for comics. It has been successful, with many tickets sold and happy customers referring others. Here are some key learnings I’ve gathered during this time. Instead of lengthy planning, it’s more effective to talk to customers and let their needs guide feature development. Having too large of a backlog leads to unvalidated assumptions and creates less customer value. Designing UIs should be done quickly, with customer feedback shaping improvements. Good component design and low technical debt allow for faster changes. Observing customer behavior can provide valuable insights. NPS is a useful metric for customer satisfaction. Focusing on a smaller set of customers who love the product and can recommend it is a solid marketing strategy. An MVP should answer specific questions about customer value, technical implementation, and alignment with goals. These questions can only be answered through shipping a feature to production.
