Microsoft has been criticised for featuring a full-page chatbot window pushing Edge, its internet browser, to users trying to download Google Chrome. When typing Chrome into the Edge search bar, many people saw a Bing chatbot window promoting “news articles about Bing features”, which took up most of the screen. This “AI response” aimed to convert users to Edge from Chrome, however, a number of people raised concerns about Microsoft promoting its own products and faking AI interactions. The feature was later removed by Microsoft after the criticism.
