Adobe Gives Up on Web-Design Product to Rival Figma After Deal Collapse

Adobe Inc. has decided to abandon its plans to develop a web design product to compete with Figma Inc., following the failure of its proposed $20 billion acquisition of the startup. As part of the agreement to acquire Figma, Adobe had halted the development of its own program, XD, and put it in “maintenance mode,” refraining from introducing new features or selling it separately. However, the deal to acquire Figma fell through due to regulatory concerns in December. It remains uncertain whether Adobe will revive XD or explore alternative options to challenge Figma in the future.
