The ASUS ROG Ally, provided by Asus, comes in two configurations: the Ryzen Z1 Extreme and the Ryzen Z1. The Extreme model uses high-end APU configuration with eight Zen 4 cores and six RDNA 3 WGPs, while the non-extreme version has a hybrid two Zen 4 + four Zen 4c CPU configuration and a smaller iGPU. The Ryzen Z1 enjoys AMD’s newer RDNA 3 architecture, allowing it to boost to high clock speeds. Despite its small size, the Ryzen Z1’s iGPU outperforms the Steam Deck’s iGPU in some aspects. The Ryzen Z1 may be more suited for a small ultrabook or convertible rather than a gaming handheld.
