The European Space Agency is closely monitoring the reentry of a pallet of used ISS batteries with the prediction of occurring on 8th March around 18:56 CET. The total mass of the batteries is estimated at 2.6 metric tonnes, with a low likelihood of reaching the ground and causing harm to individuals due to most parts burning up during reentry. Large uncertainties exist in predicting the exact location of the reentry, but the concerned region can be constrained as the event approaches. Most space objects reenter the atmosphere in a natural way, with the majority burning up before reaching the ground.
