JupyterLab 4.0 has been released, featuring faster speeds, an upgraded text editor, improved search and accessibility, and more. The real-time collaboration feature has also been moved into a separate package, and the extension manager now includes prebuilt Python extensions and extensions from pypi.org. In addition, the dual-mode settings editor, cell toolbar, and notifications have been backported to JupyterLab 3.6. Node.js v18 or newer is recommended for optimal performance. The Jupyter community encourages users to try out the new version and report any issues on GitHub or Discourse.
