This document explores the ethical, societal, and technical impacts of AI on the Web, highlighting the need for standardization and guidelines to manage these changes. Controversial issues include transparency in AI-generated content, bias in machine learning models, and privacy risks from models trained on personal data. Some proposals to address these challenges include labeling computer-generated content, enhancing privacy controls, and improving environmental sustainability. The document seeks community input to inform future actions and discussions within the W3C.
