For over 30 years, a dead rabbit has been hanging inside Seven Sisters tube station, a legacy of a short-lived mobile phone technology called Rabbit. Despite only being able to make calls within 100 yards of a base station and not receiving calls, Rabbit phones were cheaper than traditional mobile networks and had better home phone functions. Hutchison Telecom shut down Rabbit in November 1993, but surprisingly, sales surged as people liked using the phones at home. The Rabbit base station still remains at Seven Sisters tube station, a reminder of a bygone era. If you want to see the dead rabbit, visit Seven Sisters or Watford Junction station.
