Mobifree offers an ethical, human-centered alternative mobile ecosystem that prioritizes privacy, collaboration, and inclusiveness. F-Droid, a long-standing advocate for user and developer rights, is a key partner in this project. The current mobile ecosystem, dominated by Big Tech companies, limits user privacy and government services. This partnership, funded by an EU grant, aims to provide open-source, privacy-driven solutions to a larger audience. With efforts by governments worldwide to curb Big Tech monopolies, Mobifree is poised to build a mobile experience based on ethical practices, fairness, and digital sovereignty. F-Droid will create a decentralized app distribution system to enhance honest competition and privacy controls for users.
