Hannah Sieber, previously of EcoFlow, recognized the potential of batteries beyond generators. While studying at Stanford, she saw the impact of power shutoffs in California and founded Artyc. The startup has raised $14 million and developed the Medstow Micro, a compact device for shipping temperature-sensitive specimens. Artyc’s goal is to improve patient access to clinical trials and expand to shipping temperature-sensitive foods. The company is also exploring uses in healthcare and developing countries. Sieber is optimistic about the future of battery-powered shipping, aiming to overcome challenges like maintaining temperature in extenuating circumstances.
