Virtual Apollo Guidance Computer

The Virtual Apollo Guidance Computer project aims to recreate the original software that ran on the AGCs of the Apollo spacecraft. The AGC, often likened to a calculator but rather sophisticated, kept track of the spacecraft’s orientation and position using the Inertial Measurement Unit. The AGC needed the Display/Keyboard Unit (DSKY) for astronaut interaction. The Virtual AGC software is open source, allowing users to study or modify it. The project provides a virtual machine, yaAGC, to simulate the AGC and DSKY, allowing the software to respond as the original AGCs did during Apollo missions. Various Apollo software and tools are made available in this repository for interested parties to delve into the historic technology.
