The book on Awk will be released at the end of September. In the meantime, the website will provide additional content such as historical documents, code snippets, and essays on Awk and related topics. Some of the highlighted content includes the original Awk paper from 1979, an internal technical report on Awk from 1985, and an Awk program called dformat for drawing data-format diagrams. Another interesting addition is a language called Chem, which was used for describing chemical structure diagrams. The website also offers links to indexing programs and an algorithm animation system. There are also interviews with Al Aho and Brian Kernighan about Awk.
