Multispectral imaging has been key in unlocking the secrets of faded text in medieval manuscripts, including the infamous Voynich Manuscript. A recent release of previously unseen images taken at Yale University’s Beinecke Library sheds new light on the manuscript. Of particular interest is folio 1r, which reveals a Roman alphabet and Voynichese characters, possibly linked to Prague alchemist Jacobus Sinapius or Johannes Marcus Marci. These alphabets may represent early attempts at decoding the manuscript. However, experts caution against hasty interpretations, highlighting the need for careful analysis of the newly revealed text. The images provide valuable insights into the history and potential decryption of the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript.
