Steam games will need to disclose kernel-level anti-cheat on store pages

Valve announced a new requirement for Steam developers to clearly list the kernel-level anti-cheat used in games on the Steam store pages. This change comes in response to developers and players requesting more transparency surrounding anti-cheat services. The requirement also applies to existing games on Steam and is now part of the release process. Valve will be checking games to ensure compliance, but it is only mandatory for kernel-level anti-cheat. The listing of client-side or server-side anti-cheat is optional, although Valve suggests it would benefit players to know. The example provided by Valve can be seen below. Controversial information includes the need for more transparency around anti-cheat technology.
