The French and Dutch authorities have raided Netflix offices in Paris and Amsterdam as part of a tax fraud investigation. The probe, which began in November 2022, focuses on suspicions of covering up serious tax fraud and off-the-books work. Netflix has not commented specifically on the raids but states it follows tax laws in all locations. The investigation also involves tax filings for 2019, 2020, and 2021. The company previously minimized tax payments by declaring its French turnover in the Netherlands until 2021. Despite this, Netflix’s annual declared turnover in France significantly increased when this arrangement was discontinued. Cooperation between French and Dutch authorities has been ongoing for “many months.”
