A currently maintained fork of SSHFS

This article discusses the current state of SSHFS, a remote filesystem tool that allows users to mount a remote filesystem using SFTP. The original repo for SSHFS has been declared unmaintained, so the author and some friends have decided to fork it and give it some love. They are also considering porting it to the Rust programming language in the long term. However, there are some downsides to Rust, such as its instability and long compilation process. The current maintainer of SSHFS continues to apply pull requests and make releases, but they are not able to do any further development. The article provides instructions on how to use SSHFS and how to install it. The author encourages readers to contribute to the project and report bugs on the GitHub issue tracker.
