OpenRW is an open-source game engine that aims to recreate the engine used in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto III. Its main goal is to fully implement the original gameplay and ensure compatibility with modern systems, allowing players to continue enjoying the game in the future. The project does not seek to recreate known bugs or make changes to the gameplay, but instead focuses on maintaining the original experience. OpenRW requires players to own a copy of GTA III and its data in order to play. While the current version of OpenRW is not yet complete, development is ongoing and open to contributions.
