A medieval Gothic monastery built using CAD / CAM

The Carmelite monks of Wyoming are undertaking the remarkable task of building a grand Gothic Monastery. The monks needed a larger space to accommodate their growing numbers and decided to outsource the design to an architectural firm. While planning for the project, they realized that stone carving and installation would be prohibitively expensive, so they decided to learn the whole CNC stone-carving workflow themselves. After purchasing their first CNC machine, they faced some challenges and setbacks, but their determination prevailed. They have made progress on the monastery, completing the Chapter House, and continue to update their website and YouTube channel with their ongoing work.
