In a recent incident involving a Titan Airways A321neo, it has been determined that damage to the aircraft’s windows was caused by heat generated by high-powered film lamps. The aircraft had been used for filming the day prior to the incident flight, and the placement of the lights near the fuselage resulted in the melting of window seals and deformation of the window panes. During the flight, a dislodged window pane was discovered, leading to the decision to return to the airport. Upon landing, it was discovered that multiple window panes were damaged, as well as the left leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer. The investigation will determine the sequence of events that caused the damage and how to prevent it in the future. This is not the first time high-powered film lighting has caused window damage.
