AMD EPYC 7C13 Is a Surprisingly Cheap and Good CPU

STH recently purchased servers with the lesser-known AMD EPYC 7C13 CPU, selling for under $2000. The 64-core, Milan generation chip features 256MB L3 cache and PCIe Gen4 speeds. Despite limited official information, the CPU successfully ran Proxmox VE 8.1. Stress-testing showed CPU clocks at 2.42-2.43GHz and package power peaking at 230W, close to the EPYC 7713P’s performance. Priced competitively for cloud usage, the EPYC 7C13 offers the potential to consolidate older servers at a fraction of the cost. Despite being part of AMD’s new EPYC 7003 series, it competes in cloud rather than enterprise markets, providing excellent value for those upgrading hardware.
