Arm presented the Neoverse V2, their latest high-performance server core, at Hot Chips 2023. Although the core was announced in 2022, it is now being implemented in products such as NVIDIA’s Grace processor. The Neoverse family has expanded rapidly, with the addition of the N2 and V2 cores. Arm faces tough competition from Intel and AMD, especially with AMD’s Bergamo platform posing a significant threat. The Neoverse V2 core features improvements in branch prediction, prefetching, and scheduler capacity, making it a strong contender for high-performance workloads. However, Arm has yet to demonstrate clear performance leadership in the market.
