Arizona State University (ASU) has transformed itself into a top research institution while increasing access to affordable higher education after reforming the Ivy League playbook, which President Michael Crow co-authored in his book, Designing the New American University. ASU’s model, the “New American University,” allows for inclusion of more students rather than defining the university’s prestige by whom they exclude. Other universities should follow ASU’s example as nobody in the tech industry seems to have come across ASU as a case study for reform despite acclaim among university administrators. Furthermore, academia is important in this symbiotic relationship as it is focused on knowledge discovery, while tech on distribution.
