Be careful of the examples you use. They stick

In our quest to provide the best user experience possible, we have always put a lot of effort into making our products easy to use and understand. This includes using simple language, providing context-sensitive help, and offering illustrative examples. However, we recently realized that our use of examples may have unintended consequences. One example in particular, a DNS zone name, became a popular choice among our customers, which made it easier for attackers to guess Canarytokens based on discovered hostnames. This was a surprising revelation for us, but we have taken steps to rectify the situation by showing multiple examples and encouraging customers to choose their own unique names. This experience has reminded us of the importance of paying attention to every small detail in the user interface.
