Birb is an untyped, purely functional language that was designed by User:Melvin and appeared in 2021. It is based on Lambda Calculus and Combinatory Logic. What sets Birb apart is that its entire language consists of bird emojis, each with its own meaning and function. For example, the 🦉 owl represents lambda calculus, while the 🪽 wing represents combinatory logic. The language has its own syntax and semantics, with certain rules for reduction and computation. Despite its unique nature, Birb is Turing complete, meaning it is capable of performing any computation. Currently, there is one interpreter for Birb written in Haskell.
