Deutsche Bahn introduces “MetaWindow”

Deutsche Bahn introduces groundbreaking MetaWindow noise barrier technology, developed with Phononic Vibes. The MetaWindow utilizes meta technology to dramatically enhance sound absorption, offering noise insulation levels of 34 to 37 decibels while maintaining 72 percent transparency. This innovative approach is set to debut on the S4 railway construction in Hamburg. DB Board Member Berthold Huber highlights the dual benefits of the MetaWindow, aiming to increase rail traffic while reducing noise pollution and gaining community acceptance. The barrier is designed for urban areas, tourist spots, and residential zones, offering a visually appealing solution that minimizes construction objections and speeds up project approvals.
