Gmail and Yahoo have announced new protection standards for bulk email senders in an effort to secure inboxes. Starting in February 2024, Gmail will begin enforcing these standards and monitoring senders transmitting more than 5000 messages a day. Yahoo has a similar plan for the first quarter of 2024. These standards include verifying sender identities, implementing a single-click unsubscribe link, and keeping spam rates below a threshold. While these requirements are not revolutionary, many senders have not been following them. Mailgun offers tools and services to help senders achieve email deliverability success and comply with these standards.
