Local engineer Aaron Cox used a drone to capture footage of tower climbers inspecting a massive antenna system for radio and TV stations. These climbers, professionals from ERI, carry heavy gear and work with precision at extreme heights to ensure the system’s safety and functionality. While drones can capture details, some inspections require hands-on assessment to prevent potential system failures. The Crestwood Master FM Tower, known as the “supertower,” supports 10 stations and uses a complex combiner system to distribute RF signals. This behind-the-scenes look at broadcast engineering showcases the dedication and expertise required to maintain critical communication infrastructure.
