Don Lancaster, an engineer and researcher, passed away at the age of 83 in Mesa, Arizona. He had a deep fascination with the prehistoric canal system in the PinaleƱo Mountains and dedicated decades to researching and mapping these “hanging canals.” Don considered these canals to be magnificent feats of engineering that were not fully appreciated. He coauthored scientific papers on the subject and was always on the lookout for new canals. Aside from his work on canals, Don was a pioneer in microcomputers and held a patent for an original Apple part. He authored over 2,200 technical papers and 44 books on computers and electronics. Don’s legacy will be remembered through his writings, videos, and website, Guru’s Lair Resources.
