Earthstar – A database for private, distributed, offline-first applications

Earthstar is a database and JavaScript library that allows users to create private, distributed, offline-first applications. Users can store music, photos, and videos, and actually delete content. The platform supports live syncing, multiple identities, and efficient sync with streaming capabilities. Earthstar is always self-hosted with servers being optional. It does not use blockchain or tokens, and is free forever. The platform offers verification with ed25519 and works in the browser. Users can grant read-only access, have one identity across many devices, and use storage drivers such as Deno and Node. This project was funded through the NGI Assure Fund.
