Electron band structure in germanium, my ass (2000)

The author sarcastically reveals that the exponential dependence of resistivity on temperature in germanium is not true. They criticize the equipment and the available texts on the subject. The author goes on to describe their experimental procedure which includes difficulties with soldering wires onto the germanium crystal and using faulty equipment. They present their results, which they find to be a waste of time, and add a sarcastic note about drawing an exponential curve and using a complicated computer program to make the data fit. The author concludes that choosing physics as a career was a big mistake and regrets not studying computer science instead.
