Euthanasia Is Not Healthcare

The author highlights Canada’s state-sponsored assisted suicide program, or MAID, and its concerning expansion beyond the original eligibility requirements. The author argues that the program has expanded to include people with mental illness and the poor, who may not have had other alternatives due to their socio-economic status. The author also points out a disturbing advertisement by a clothing retailer glamorizing assisted suicide and notes that the Quebec College of Physicians suggested expanding the program to include newborns with certain illnesses. These expansions have faced little opposition from the media or politicians, despite potential violation of human rights and concerns about giving children, including mature minors, and others the option for state-sponsored suicide.
