Eventually everything will evaporate, not only black holes

New research by Radboud University has found that physicist Stephen Hawking was right about black holes – but not entirely. Hawking’s theory that black holes would eventually evaporate through radiation is correct but the study showed that the crucial event horizon is not needed for the process. Hawking argued that pairs of particles were created near the event horizon and through particle annihilation, Hawking radiation occurred, eventually causing the black hole to evaporate. The new study found that these particles could be created far beyond the event horizon, in the surroundings of black holes or other large objects like remnants of dead stars.
