This feature allows users to store files of any size, which are stored in AWS S3 and cached through a global CDN. With file attachments, files become a part of a database record, sharing the same security boundaries. Image files also have extra functionality, allowing users to request them in different sizes and styles. By integrating file attachments directly into the database, Xata aims to simplify application architecture and reduce the need for multiple services. The feature has been positively received by developers during its early access program.
